👇 And here is the recap of 2022 Q2
End of Penultimate Year
All course grades were released in early June. Overall I am satisfied with the result, with my GPA finally passing 3!! (applause pleaseee 👏🏻) I studied 5 courses this semester. There were 2 courses I still remembered now lol.
MGMT 3130 Judgement and Decision Making (4 credits)
I studied this course because of interest…. and the grade turned out to be B-. I kinda expected it, just… not that low.
According to recency bias (learned in this course), we have the tendency to remember the end of events. This is the last course to release grade, other courses with good grades are released first, therefore I am shocked and a little bit sad when this course had released grade (which is the last)
I didn’t participate a lot during class, and the decision analysis report wasn’t that good (below mean I performed okay in the exams and presentation (slightly above mean), probably these are the reasons.
Overall, I enjoyed the content of this course, human biases are interesting to learn. But I probably won’t take any mgmt courses again「興趣不能當飯食」 hahaha, grades are important lmao, and I am not good at “blowing water” hahaahha
SBMT 2100 Community Project on sub-divided tenants in Central Western District (2 credits)
This pass-fail course required you to submit 3 progress reports, final report and a 500words self reflection. The workload is not high as we basically just follow what the 負責人 aka Ant**** wants and let him review regularly. The reports are also team based, so make sure you divided the work CLEARLY and set INTERNAL deadlines.
I knew more about this district, i didnt even know there were sub divided flats there before lol. We also chatted with social workers and physiotherapist, and learn about how trans-discipline works. For example, physiotherapist Pia*e doesn”t work as a physiotherapist only, he also organizes activities, 洗樓 with social workers, and their duties are very diverse.
ISOM4810 OM best practice (3 credits), ISOM3760 Logistics Management (3 credits)
If you studied hard for the finals, and got good teammates, you will have good grades. I would say in OM courses, hard work pays off (at least in supply chain option courses, idk if business analytics is the same too)
Dealing with groupmates
On top of all the things I learned, one best takeaway is dealing with groupmates. All of my courses have group projects. Working with different teammates constantly challenges my patience lmao, they are soooo uNiqUe. (not going to list them out hahahah, they just annoyed me at that time but not anymore) I didnt handle it quite well, with lots of things going on, I sometimes didnt soften my languages
PS you can dm me for the syllabus😉
Changing habits — gym before breakfast
One day I was chatting with my friend about I don't have the time and energy to exercise after work. And she pointed out why not work out before then? “It was so sad and frustrating to start working once you wake up” The idea completely shocked me as I never thought about this option. I enjoyed my morning routine — streching, breakfast, reading, then work, so I haven’t thought about changing it. I also always think fasted training will affect my performance.
As a person who loves freshness, I decided to give it a try. And I LIKE IT! My performance is completely fine. I also found myself less tired especially in the afternoon, which is a bonus! Shout out to my friend who suggest this ♡ Whenever I go to the office, I will have a fasted training. I shorten the sessions to ~1 hour, and have breakfast afterward in the office.
If you found yourself always tired, you can try a fasted workout (even before coffee for me lol) for two weeks. But, listen to your body, it will tell you whether it suits you or not.
Working as a supply chain solutions intern
- My current schedule: 3 days office + 2 wfh
Love the current arrangement, so don’t change pleaseeeeee 👺
I like the nature of the job, like data mapping, translating languages between XML and EDI etc. So supply chain is probably the industry I pursue after graduation. But then… I don’t like sitting at the office, I feel very stiff and tired after sitting the whole day🥲 Luckily, the situation improves a lot after I start fasted training. Even so, I feel energized and productive which is great!!
